Deacon Scott Schwind, a seminarian for the Diocese of Amarillo, will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Patrick J. Zurek during a Mass Friday, May 24 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 South Washington. The 6:30pm Mass is open to the public.

All young men in the Diocese of Amarillo between the ages of 16 and 40 are invited to attend Pizza With Priests Friday, June 15, beginning at 6:30pm in the Dwelling Youth Room at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4100 South Coulter.

I received my call to Priesthood at a young age. I think I was about 8 or 9 years old. I went a while really wondering whether what I was feeling was for real or just an idea put into my head by others. I left the thought of priesthood alone for a short while during middle and high school, but still felt the call. I graduated from Holy Cross Catholic Academy in May 2007. I entered college seminary in the Fall of 2007.
