A Lenten Message from Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Apostolic Administrator, sede vacante

In the past two weeks, I have been greeted warmly and wonderfully by the Faithful of this diocese. Since we are now at the beginning of Lent, I wanted to write to everyone and wish you a blessed Lenten season filled with hope, contrition, renewed purpose and joy. This Lent marks our Centennial as a local Church. Let us celebrate it well.
 
First off, I want to give my support and gratitude to the priests of the diocese. You have important work to do at all times, but most especially at this time of the church year you are called and sent to engage in your ministry more intensely.
 
To all the Permanent Deacons, Grace and Peace to you in your diaconal assignments. As you continue to collaborate with our priests may the Lord bless you in your work.
 
To all of our Women Religious, you are a beautiful group. I have met several of you. Stay Faithful and enthused.
 
To all the Faithful, please have a wonderful Lent this year. I just did the Rite of Election and a significant number of young people (because everyone looks young to me now) are coming into the Church, either as Catechumens or as Candidates.
 
I love being here. I don’t know how long my ministry with you will last. Only the Pope knows that, and he will take his time in selecting a new Bishop. Let us have a holy and good life in the months to come as we seek to witness to Jesus Christ.

Mensaje Cuaresmal del Cardenal Daniel DiNardo, Administrador Apostólico, sede vacante, Diócesis de Amarillo:
En las dos semanas recientes los Fieles de esta diócesis me han dado calurosa y cordial bienvenida. Ahora al principio de la Cuaresma, quiero escribirles a todos y desearles una bendita temporada de Cuaresma llena de esperanza, contrición, motivación renovada y gozo. Esta Cuaresma marca nuestro Centenario como Iglesia local. Celebrémosla bien.
 
Para empezar, quiero dar mi apoyo y gratitud a los sacerdotes de la diócesis. Ustedes tienen una labor importante que hacer en todo tiempo, pero en particular en esta fase del año eclesiástico son llamados y enviados a ejercer su ministerio con mayor intensidad.
 
A todos los Diáconos Permanentes, Paz y Gracia en sus tareas diaconales. A medida que siguen colaborando con nuestros sacerdotes, que el Señor bendiga sus labores.
 
A todas nuestras Religiosas, ustedes son un grupo hermoso. Ya conocí a varias de ustedes. Mantengan su Fe y su entusiasmo.
 
A todos los Fieles, tengan por favor una Cuaresma maravillosa este año. Acabo de celebrar el Rito de Elección y un significativo número de jóvenes (porque ya todos me parecen jóvenes) se están integrando a la Iglesia como Catecúmenos o Candidatos.
 
Me encanta estar aquí. No sé cuánto tiempo durará mi ministerio con ustedes. Solo el Papa lo sabe y se tomará su tiempo en escoger a un nuevo Obispo. Tengamos una vida buena y santa en los meses venideros conforme intentamos dar testimonio de Jesucristo.
