The Roman Catholic Church is concerned with the well-being of all people, but has a special concern for those who are most vulnerable and cannot fully care for themselves. It is the policy of the Diocese of Amarillo that child abuse, including sexual abuse of minors, is contrary to Christian principles and will not be tolerated.

A) If you observe, or have reason to believe, that a minor under the age of 18 has been subjected to abuse by any employee or volunteer of the Diocese of Amarillo, please note the following:

• Texas law requires you to immediately notify the nearest police officer, law enforcement agency, or Child Protective Services (CPS) or www.txabusehotline.org.
  • In Potter and Randall counties, CPS can be contacted at 806-358-6211.
  • For all other counties in Texas, CPS can be contacted at 1-800-252-5400.
• Please immediately notify the Diocese of Amarillo at 806-383-2243, ext. 117.

• Texas law requires you to immediately notify the nearest police officer, law enforcement agency, or Child Protective Services (CPS) or www.txabusehotline.org.
  • In Potter and Randall counties, CPS can be contacted at 806-358-6211.
  • For all other counties in Texas, CPS can be contacted at 1-800-252-5400.

C) Please note that the Diocese of Amarillo does not accept anonymous reports. If one wishes to report anonymously, they should forward their concerns to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
