Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Amarillo are invited to take part in two events in the next several weeks.
A Knights of Columbus Diocesan Deputy Summer Conference is set for Sunday, July 28 at 2:30pm at the Columbus Home Association, aka, Knights of Columbus Council #4621 Hall at the intersection of Hillside and Western. According to Diocesan Deputy Joe Lafuente, this conference is for all Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries. The guest speaker will be State Deputy Ron Alonzo of Corpus Christi, who will discuss new fraternal year goals and projects.
On Saturday, Aug. 10, there will be a diocesan-wide Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity for new members of the Knights of Columbus. Conducted by the Exemplification Team from Knights of Columbus Council #7840 at St. Ann’s Church, Canyon, the exemplification will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4100 South Coulter. “This is a Knights of Columbus statewide endeavor to grow our order,” said Lafuente. “All dioceses in the state of Texas will be conducting exemplifications on Aug. 10. These exemplifications are being conducted to honor our founder, Blessed Father Michael McGivney, whose feast day is on Tuesday, Aug. 13. “For any practical Catholic gentlemen wishing to join the Knights of Columbus, they should contact their local council or the respective District Deputies.” Learn more about either event by contacting Lafuente via email, [email protected].
