Amarillo—In a significant stride towards addressing food insecurity in our area, The Mary E. Bivins Foundation has presented Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle an opportunity that promises to double the impact of donors' generosity and increase the amount of help provided to those in need.
Through a gracious grant from the Bivins Foundation, all contributions made specifically to the InterFaith Hunger Project, through Thursday, Aug. 15 will be matched.
But there’s a catch.
Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle must first raise $30,000 for the project that began on Feb. 15 and ends Aug. 15. As of July 31, Catholic Charities has received $26,440.31, which puts the agency 88.1% toward the goal.
“To take advantage of this remarkable opportunity, individuals are encouraged to donate to the InterFaith Hunger Project through Catholic Charities by Thursday, Aug. 15,” said Jeff Gulde, Executive Director at Catholic Charities. “This matching grant serves as a beacon of hope, offering a tangible opportunity for individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those grappling with food insecurity. With each donation matched, the collective effort will extend even further, reaching more families in need and strengthening the fabric of our community.
“As we seize this momentous opportunity, we pay homage to the Bivins Foundation's vision of selflessness. Together, let us honor Mary E. Bivins’ legacy by uniting in solidarity to combat hunger and uplift our community.”
