“The Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian Faith and of Christian life, God alone can make it know to us by revealing Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” —Catechism of the Catholic Church, 261 Amarillo—The first of eight courses on the Holy Trinity will be offered Saturday, Feb. 7, according to School Sister of Notre Dame Sister María Elena Ferrer, diocesan Coordinator of the Diocesan Office of Faith Formation.
All catechists in the Diocese of Amarillo are encouraged to attend one of these courses, which are being offered throughout the Diocese of Amarillo in February and March. The courses, which are free of charge, will be offered in both English and Spanish and from 9:00am to noon.
The schedule for the courses on the Holy Trinity are: • Saturday, Feb. 7, in the South Deanery at San Jose Church, 735 Brevard, Hereford. Presenting the course will be Sister María Elena Ferrer and School Sister of Notre Dame Sister Beatriz Martinez; • Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Central Deanery in the Conference Center at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 4512 NE 24th Ave. Sisters María Elena and Beatriz will once again serve as instructors; • Saturday, March 7, in the North Deanery in the Pastoral Center at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 915 South Maddox, Dumas. Sister María Elena will facilitate the English portion of the course and Fatima Zanetti, director of Religious Education at St. Hyacinth Church, will present the course in Spanish; and, • Saturday, March 14, in the East Deanery at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 810 West 23rd Street, Pampa. Sister María Elena and Fatima Zanetti will once again serve as presenters.
“There is no charge for this course,” said Sister María Elena. “All catechists in the Diocese of Amarillo are expected to attend one of these eight offerings. We ask that participants bring a Bible, pen and pad and choose a date that is convenient to them.”
