Bishop Patrick J. Zurek will preside at a Memorial Mass, with the priests of the Diocese of Amarillo concelebrating, for Pope Francis TONIGHT at 6:30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The following statement was issued by Bishop Patrick J. Zurek on April 21, following the passing of Pope Francis.

Three parishes in the Diocese of Amarillo have announced plans to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.

Pope Francis passed away at 7:35am local time (12:35am, Amarillo time) on Easter Monday, April 21, at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta, as confirmed by the Holy See Press Office. The 88-year-old pontiff led the Catholic Church for a little more than 12 years.

A documentary film, Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality, will be seen in Amarillo Sunday, April 27 through Tuesday, April 29 at Cinemark Hollywood 16 at 9100 Canyon Expressway, Amarillo.

Bishop Patrick J. Zurek will celebrate the final Jubilee Inauguration Mass tonight at St. Laurence Church.
