Scouting Religious Emblems

First meeting (in-person and zoom) with scouts and parents will be held in March to train on the use of the e-manual. 

Catholic Scouting…
• is an official program of the Catholic Church in the U.S.
• builds on the ,me-honored structure of Boy Scouts of America
• welcomes boys and girls starting in kindergarten and features whole
family activites.
Religious Emblems are designed to help Scouts engage and grow in their
faith. All Catholic Scouts whether they are Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA,
Venturers or Sea Scouts can earn Religious Emblems. Religious Emblems
program content is tailored to a Scout’s age. Religious Emblems are
intended to complement religious education in Catholic schools and
parish faith formation programs.

• Light of Christ, Designed for 6 or 7-year-old Cub Scouts,
o Start Anytime
• Parvuli Dei, Designed for 8 to 10-year-old Cub Scouts,
o Start Anytime
• Ad Altare Dei, Designed for 13 or 14-year-old Scouts and older Scouts,
o Starting March 2026
• Pope Pius XII, Designed for 15 or 16-year-old Scouts and older Scouts,
o Starting 2027

Required activity books for all religious emblem programs are available from
the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS) online store

Note: SYT requirements precludes communica6ng with scouts directly.
Parents/Guardians must be included in all communica6ons.
